Things I Can't See
Why is the lady happy? Why is the boy sad? Why are the parents worried? A unique book on empathy that helps children recognize different emotions and discover the reason behind the emotions. It helps them understand that sometimes the reasons may be obvious and at other times they might have to dig deeper to understand the causes. Empathy is considered to be one of the most important skills to create positive social change. It allows you to understand problems, communicate clearly and develop more collaborative relationships.
Each spread of the book focuses on one emotion and asks children to identify all the reasons the character could be experiencing that emotion. By scanning for the reasons the child is able to build on their visual perception skills and vocabulary in addition to their empathy skills.
Age: 3-6 years
Skills: Visual Perception, Empathy, Vocabulary
“Prajvee loves listening to the books written by Priyanka. They are simple and easy for kids to understand. They take them on a ride into an imaginative world which stories should typically do irrespective of age. My personal favourite is ‘Things I can't see' which so subtly highlights that there is so much more than what meets the eye. Looking forward to more lovely books from Priyanka!”
“She loves your books. Illustrations are so wonderful. Ayana surely loves reading them over and over again… they are her favourite bedtime stories”
